Jim Richie

Coach Jim Richie

Mr. Richie started coaching at Coleman as assistant coach for 5 years, head coach at Pulaski High School for 15 years, and then went to Barron High School. It was at Pulaski that Richie earned recognition as a coach as he compiled a 157-22-2 record while there. During that period his teams won 12 Conference Championships, 6 Regional Championships and 7 Sectional Crowns. Twice his teams finished Runner-up in the State High School Tournament participants.

Besides being recognized as an outstanding coach, Richie is also known for his contributions to education, society and wrestling. He has held the following positions: President of the Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association; President of the State Chapter of the U.S.W.F.; State Chairman for the U.S.W.F; Member of the W.I.A.A. Wrestling Rule Committee; and Board of Directors of the State A.A.U.

He has also been honored in Pulaski as the community "Man of the Year", "Pulaski Teacher of the Year" and received the "Elks Sports Leadership Award".

Richie is a 1963 graduate of Hurley High School and he received his B.A. Degree from St. Norbert College.
