Ed Stech

Coach Edward Stech

Ed was head coach at West Allis Central from 1956 to 1975. Before that he worked with the wrestling program at North High School in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a charter member of the Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association and served as it's Secy./Treas.

He is also a charter member of the Milwaukee Suburban Wrestling Coaches Association and severed as their Secy.-Treas. and Historian. Also, he holds memberships to the National Wrestling Coaches Assoc., WISC. AAU Wrestling Committee, United States Wrestling Federation and Wisconsin Weigh-in Club.

He served as Secy. of the WIAA Wrestling Rules Advisory Committee from 1966 - 1969. He was a guest speaker on occasion, and assisted in the last two Olympic trials at UW-Madison. He has also been associated with the Jr. Olympic Wrestling Program in the Milwaukee area, and is Co-Director of the West Allis 16 team invitational Wrestling Tournament.

Ed is a recipient of the 20-year service award presented by the Wisconsin Wrestling Coaches Association.

As a Coach, his teams won 91 of the 228 matches they wrestled. While not a winning record, the results are still the same, to be an influential part of a boy becoming a man.
