Joe was one of the pioneer coaches who made South Division (Milwaukee) the dominant force it was. In 8 years, Joe compiled a record of 65 wins and 3 losses and 1 tie. He won't state titles in 1947 and 1950 and was second in 1949. He coached 13 state champions.
Joe died while in coaching in 1951, but left more than just a record and a name for Milwaukee South. He also was a leader in setting up numerous clinics and demonstrations. One of those hard working men who found promoting wrestling to be very satisfying, perhaps nothing less than an obsession.
