Due to recent turn of events UW Madison will no longer be offering the Hydrostatic Reweigh or Appeal process. Both the WIAA and UW Hospital Sports Medicine Center understand the importance of this facility and the service to our coaches and will be providing an alternative process for this season.

The process is called DXA is a process that uses X-ray to measure body fat percentage and is considered as accurate as hydrostatic weighing. The process is actually less labor intensive for athletes, and it is considered 'low dose' and 'negligible' by state regulatory.

UW La Crosse at this point is still offering the service of Hydrostatic Weighing as part of the process.

The WWCA is providing this information as a service to our members to make sure you are well informed in case you need to proceed with this for any of your athletes.
