Good morning everyone,
Attached is the most recent newsletter.  Please note, I haven't gotten the most up to date email list just yet (by the sounds of it, we continue to have more and more coaches register for our Association which is great!) so if you know of somebody that has recently signed up for our association and isn't getting the newsletter, please feel free to forward it on to them!

District 6 News & Updates Head & Neck Survey 2019

From: Ryan Gerber
Date: Mon, Nov 26, 2018 at 11:17 AM
Subject: Head and Neck Form
Good morning coaches,
As I mentioned in the newsletter, the WWCA will be distributing a Head and Neck form that we would like you go give to your Athletic Trainer and have them fill out each time that a head and neck injury is taken during this current season.  The rationale is this:
The WIAA provides 4 minutes of injury time for Head and Neck injuries, the National Federation does not.  The WIAA is thus out of compliance as a result of this difference.  Obviously, we feel that it is better for the athlete to be provided the additional time given the possible severity of the injury.  The WIAA would like to push the National Federation to adopt the Wisconsin model but to do this, we need data.
So, please give this form to your trainer, have them fill it out, hold on to it, and send it back to Wade Labecki at the end of the year.  They should send back them back as a group - for instance, whether they need to fill out one or ten, send them back at once.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks

If you have any questions regarding the upcoming Convention, I have attached the brochure and the online registration can be found at wwca.org.
Additionally, if you know that you or somebody else is closing in on a milestone of some sort this coming season, please let me know so I can keep track of this.
If you have an event that you'd like me to promote (either because you're still looking for teams or just because you think the event is worthy of promotion) let me know and I'd be happy to help.
Finally, if you or your club is interested in donating anything for the WWCA Raffle, please let me know.
Thanks as always - for those still coaching this fall, best of luck on the finish to your season, and I hope to see you all at the Convention this November!!

District 6 News & Updates WWCA Convention and Raffle

Subject: WWCA Convention and Raffle
Good morning District 6 Members,
I wanted to reach out and remind everyone that the annual WWCA Convention is fast approaching.  I've made mention of it in the newsletters but as a reminder, the Convention is November 2-3 at the KI Center in Green Bay.  Registration is open and you can register right on the WWCA's webpage.
I also have been asked to look for anything that you or your club may want to donate as part of a raffle item for the convention.  As you may remember, at lunch on Saturday, the WWCA raffles off a number of items of various values.  If you or your club would be willing to donate something for this, please let me know and we can talk from there.
Again, this is a great time to start having conversations with coaches from within all levels of your program to become members of the WWCA.  The Convention is one of the great benefits our membership enjoys and a great time to network and connect with other coaches from across the state!

District 6 Spring Caucus Meeting Feedback/Responses June 2018

From: Ryan Gerber

Subject: WWCA Spring Caucus Feedback
Good morning WWCA District 6 Members!
I wanted to follow-up on our spring caucus survey by sending you out the summary of responses that I received.  We had 33% of membership respond to the survey which I think is a great starting spot for our district.  I've also included comments that members offered.  I think this this a great place to continue the conversation and provide everyone a window into the thoughts and feelings around the district.
I have forwarded this same summary of responses to the executive board of the WWCA for their information.
If there are any further questions, or, if anyone has any further suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them.  Our next Exec Board meeting is in July so you'll be hearing from me again at that time.  Good luck to everyone that is competing this Summer and I hope you enjoy your time off!

District 6 Spring Caucus Feedback Sought May 31, 2018

Thank you to everyone that has filled out the Google Form and provided feedback on the Spring Caucus agenda.  I'm sending this out again as another chance for those who haven't gotten around to filling out the form.
I was in contact with our WWCA President Randy Ferrell yesterday and will be sending him the complete results next Wednesday.  That means that I will be taking feedback through next Wednesday so I highly encourage everyone to take a minute or two and fill in your thoughts.  I will also be sending out a summary of feedback to all of you next week once I submit the results to Randy.
Have a great end of the week and a relaxing weekend!

District 6 WWCA Spring Caucus Information May 30, 2018

From: Ryan Gerber
Date: Wed, May 30, 2018 at 7:10 AM
Subject: WWCA Spring Caucus Information
Good morning everyone!
I emailed yesterday reminding you that WWCA Hall of Fame nominations are due June 1st.  This morning, I'm attaching an agenda with links to different items that the WWCA is currently taking on.  Normally, we'd be discussing all of these things at length at a spring caucus meeting but since we're getting pretty late here, I thought it would be more efficient to send out information in this manner.
All of the links are active and take you to information that was sent to me directly from the WWCA.  Please take a look at the information in the links and read through each item carefully.
At the bottom of the agenda, there is a red link that takes you to a Google Form (no, you don't need a gmail address to take it).  If we had a traditional caucus meeting, I would take questions, comments, and feedback at the meeting but because we're doing this electronically, I'll take feedback in this way.  It's certainly not required but for those like me that have become frustrated over the years that our voices aren't heard, this is a great way to let you voice be heard in a productive manner.
Again, if you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email and I'll do my best to get back to you in a timely manner.
Thanks and have a great Wednesday!

District 6 News & Updates Dist. Rep. Introduction May 29, 2019

From: Ryan Gerber

Subject: District 6 Update
Good afternoon everyone,
For those who don't know me, my name is Ryan Gerber, Head Wrestling Coach at Fort Atkinson High School, and beginning this July, I will be the new District 6 rep for the WWCA, replacing Mark Peterson.  I'd like to thank Mark for his time and service and also say that I'm looking forward to working with you all and helping to improve the sport of wrestling in our state.
One of the reasons I got involved with the WWCA exec board was to bring increased communication and outreach to the district coaches.  I feel that our district is full of great people with great ideas and strong opinions of how we can improve our sport and make it sustainable for the future.  With that in mind, expect to see a number of emails coming from me in the next few months as I will be reaching out.
Look for another communication coming soon but I just wanted to mention before finishing up that the deadline to nominate deserving candidates for the George Martin Hall of Fame is June 1st (coming up pretty quickly).  Here is the link for nominations as well as instructions.
Thanks again, and if you have any questions or anything I can help you with, please feel free to email me!
